Strengthening Families. Restoring Identity. Transforming Generations.

Fatherless Initiatives exist to bring healing, hope, and spiritual restoration to children, youth, and adults impacted by fatherlessness. We believe God is turning the hearts of fathers to their children and the hearts of children to their fathers, bringing reconciliation, stability, and identity back into our homes and communities (Malachi 4:6).

This initiative is a call to action—answering the spiritual, emotional, and practical needs of those who have grown up without a present father or positive father figure. Through prayer, community support, mentorship, and strategic outreach, we seek to break generational cycles and build strong, thriving families rooted in the love of Christ.

Our Mission

To restore hope and identity to the fatherless by creating spiritually grounded, supportive pathways that lead to healing, empowerment, and generational transformation.

Why This Matters

Fatherlessness is one of the most significant root issues affecting families and communities. Its impact is seen in identity struggles, educational challenges, emotional wounds, violence, instability, and generational trauma.

But We Believe:

Where fatherlessness has created a void, God brings restoration.
Where there is brokenness, He brings healing.
Where there are generational patterns, He brings new beginnings.

The Fatherless Initiatives exist to partner with God in this restorative work.

Core Focus Areas

1. Prayer & Spiritual Covering

We intercede for the “Now Generation,” believing for healing of father wounds, restoration of family bonds, and renewed identity in Christ.

2. Mentorship & Positive Male Engagement

We connect young people with spiritually grounded male mentors who model integrity, stability, and godly leadership.

3. Healing & Support Circles

Safe spaces for youth and adults to process father wounds, grief, rejection, and identity struggles through guided support and prayer.

4. Community Outreach & Prevention

Workshops, school partnerships, and community programs that strengthen caregivers and address root causes of fatherlessness.

5. Identity & Purpose Development

Programs that build confidence, affirm God-given identity, and equip young people to walk boldly in their purpose.

Our Commitment

We are committed to:

  • Standing in the gap for the fatherless through consistent intercession

  • Providing compassionate, culturally-aware support

  • Empowering youth through mentorship and guidance

  • Restoring hope and identity through Jesus Christ

  • Raising up healed, purpose-driven leaders for the next generation

How You Can Get Involved

There is a place for everyone who has a heart for the fatherless:

A Generation Waiting to Be Called Forth

Fatherlessness does not have the final word. God is raising a generation who will walk in purpose, identity, and spiritual strength. The Fatherless Initiatives are our offering toward that promise.

Men’s Preparation for Ministry to the Fatherless

Report by Bishop Bobby Holmes

Prayer Fellowship Breakfast

Saturday, November 15, 2025

The Men of ICHC gathered for a powerful Prayer Fellowship Breakfast with one purpose in mind—to encourage, inspire, and strengthen one another to live out their calling while mentoring the next generation to do the same. The response was overwhelming, and the room was filled almost to capacity.

Pastor Michael Thompson opened with devotion from 1 Kings 2:1–2, where David charges Solomon to “be strong therefore, and prove yourself a man.” This scripture served as the foundation for the day’s message and the truth that God has created men to walk in strength, identity, and spiritual responsibility.

Understanding the Weight of Mentorship

A core premise emerged:
Men often struggle to mentor not because of lack of skill, but because of unhealed wounds from their own fathers.

Pain carried from childhood—spoken or unspoken—can hinder a man’s ability to confidently guide others.

Participants were asked to honestly reflect on statements regarding their relationship with their fathers, including:

  • Whether they knew how their father felt about them

  • Whether their father supported their interests

  • Whether their childhood memories carry pain

  • Whether their father was emotionally or physically hurtful

  • Whether they still feel haunted by their father relationship

  • This exercise opened the door for deep reflection, healing, and connection.

Roundtable Reflections

As the men shared, the room became a space of brotherhood and truth:

One man, recently grieving the loss of the family matriarch, expressed the feeling of being alone—yet realizing God’s presence remains with him.

Another, raised in foster care, shared that he often felt fatherless. Instead of letting crisis define him, he allowed Christ to shape him—and now pours intentionally into his own son.

Another man recalled that his “Papa was a rolling stone,” leaving him to navigate manhood without guidance.

One attendee shared the deep wound of being abandoned by both parents and raised by his grandparents, recalling the pain of seeing his father drive the school bus and never acknowledge him.

The eldest man present, raised in the Post-slavery era, testified of a time when manhood was taught and reinforced by the community. Despite hardship, men grew stronger—and were accountable.

Pastor Rodney Coleman emphasized that every story shared represents God’s grace and mercy, and that young men do not need a perfect story—they need our stories.

A 24-year-old young man in attendance shared how he struggled with self-doubt and had been involved in crime, yet sensed God’s protection in moments where his life could have ended. Moved by the testimonies, he gave his life to Christ that morning.

Communion & Spiritual Charge

Dr. Adebo led Communion, reminding the men that we are Carriers of the Blood of Jesus—and that the Blood gives power and authority in the visible realm. This sacred moment sealed the gathering in unity and spiritual strength.

Closing Prayer

Heavenly Father,
We lift before You every man who has walked through life without the presence, protection, or guidance of a father. You see every silent hurt, every unanswered question, and every longing for affirmation. Wrap Your loving arms around them and remind them that they are not forgotten and not fatherless—for You have always been their Father. Heal wounds from childhood. Break cycles of pain, anger, and loneliness. Give these men the courage and compassion to mentor others who are struggling with life’s battles. Thank You for being a Father to the fatherless and the healer of broken hearts. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Save the Date

Saturday, November 15, 2025

The Men’s Pastors Training for the Fatherless was a God-glorifying and deeply impactful gathering. Throughout the session, powerful testimonies created a sacred atmosphere of learning, compassion, and purpose.

Some men shared stories of being blessed with strong fathers in their lives. Others opened up about growing up without a father, yet experiencing God’s provision through mentors who stepped in with love, guidance, and consistency. These heartfelt moments reminded us of the true calling and responsibility of mentorship.

One especially moving testimony highlighted the beauty of generational restoration—a father who poured into his son now witnesses that same son pouring back into him. These reflections reaffirm God’s design for legacy, healing, and spiritual guidance.

We extend sincere gratitude to Pastor Michael Thompson for his unwavering leadership and dedication to strengthening the ICHC Fatherless Initiative. This work continues to be a rewarding, transformative ministry aimed at helping young men make a powerful turnaround in life.

Altars in Neighborhoods

Coordinator: Pastor Dervin Brown

As we strengthen the Fatherless Initiative, we also remain prayerful regarding the expansion of Altars in the Neighborhoods—a movement designed to neutralize the works of darkness by applying the blood of Jesus throughout our communities.

Through the Spirit, these altars apprehend the hearts of men, inviting God’s presence into neighborhoods, churches, schools, universities, the U.S. Capitol, and surrounding areas.

You are encouraged to start or participate in an altar in your community.
