Dr. Corinthia Ridgley Boone Appointed as the First National Day of Prayer Task Force “Legacy Leader”October 6, 2025

The International Christian Host Coalition (ICHC) joyfully celebrates the recognition of Dr. Corinthia Ridgley Boone as the first-ever Legacy Leader of the National Day of Prayer Task Force (NDPTF) — a distinction established by the NDPTF and the National Prayer Committee (NDPC) to honor those who have demonstrated extraordinary leadership, mentorship, and faithfulness in mobilizing unified prayer for America.

For over 40 years, Dr. Boone has faithfully served as Chair of the Capital City National Day of Prayer, inspiring generations through prayer, unity, and a steadfast commitment to God’s call. Her appointment as the inaugural Legacy Leader recognizes her as a bridge builder and spiritual matriarch whose influence continues to shape intercessory movements across the nation.

In recognition of her service, the NDPTF has also established the Legacy Leader Summit Scholarship, which will sponsor a young coordinator under 35 each year to attend the National Prayer Summit — a tribute to Dr. Boone’s heart for equipping the next generation of prayer leaders.

As part of this transition, Sheila Griffin has been commissioned as the new National Day of Prayer Task Force Washington, D.C. Coordinator, ensuring that the work of unity and prayer continues with renewed strength and vision.

Reflecting on this honor, Dr. Boone shared:

“I am accepting this honor and the spirit of transference for generations to come — to leave a legacy of hope, biblical service, and excellence with eternal value.”
