The Place of the Altar and the Blood of Jesus: “You Are the Carriers of the Blood of Jesus”

During the International Christian House Coalition (ICHC) Friday Pastors Prayer Call on February 27, 2026 (6:30–7:30 AM), Pastor Dervin Brown of the Jericho Prayer Movement (JPM) shared a powerful teaching centered on the theme: “You Are the Carriers of the Blood of Jesus (By Faith).”

Serving as the JPM Altar Coordinator, Pastor Brown emphasized the prophetic importance of altars and the power of the blood of Jesus in prayer, spiritual authority, and community transformation.

The Prophetic Role of the Altar

Throughout the Bible, altars and the shedding of blood represent prophetic acts where God’s people encounter His presence and authority. One example is found in the story of Balaam in Numbers 23, where spiritual declarations carried prophetic consequences.

Pastor Brown explained that in this season, God is calling believers to raise altars through revelation. As believers declare the Word of God at these altars, they symbolically sprinkle the blood of Jesus through faith. The blood gives power to what is spoken, and those declarations become authentic and effective within the visible realm, impacting neighborhoods and communities.

The Eternal Power of the Blood

Blood carries life within it. Human blood and even the blood of animals have limits, but the blood of Jesus is eternal. In Revelation 1:18, Christ declares, “I live forevermore,” reminding believers that His sacrifice and its power never expire.

The blood of Christ is unlike any other blood in heaven or on earth. It carries divine authority, redemption, and victory.

Contending for Territory

Referencing Numbers 24:2–5, Pastor Brown described how Balaam prophetically saw the victory of Christ. Even when attempts were made to curse God’s people, those curses were turned into blessings. This demonstrates an important spiritual principle: territory cannot be taken without spiritual contending.

Believers who stand at neighborhood altars contend against territorial powers that attempt to influence people’s destinies through deception, enchantment, and spiritual oppression. Through the revelation of the blood of Jesus, those forces lose their authority.

Freedom for This Generation

The message also highlighted the impact of spiritual altars on families and communities. When the blood of Jesus is declared, curses lose their power and generational cycles are broken. Pastor Brown emphasized that God desires to bring freedom and restoration, especially to a generation affected by broken families and fatherlessness.

A Call to Rise

The teaching concluded with a strong call for believers to rise in spiritual awareness and take their place at the altar. Understanding that the blood of Jesus carries both voice and power equips believers to stand against the strategies of the enemy and participate in God’s harvest.

As Jesus taught in Matthew 9:35–38, the harvest is plentiful, and prayer prepares laborers for the work ahead.

The message for this season is clear:

Rise up. Become aware. Cut off the strategies of the enemy. Take your place at the altar.

In Faith,

Pastor Dervin Brown
