Ignite the Flame: A New Chapter in the National Prayer Movement

Reflections from the National Prayer Committee Conference

January 20–21, 2026 | Liberty University, Lynchburg, VA

On January 20–21, 2026, members of the National Prayer Committee (NPC) gathered at Liberty University for a sacred and timely convening centered on the theme “Ignite the Flame – Must Never Go Out” (Leviticus 6:13). Hosted in an atmosphere marked by humility, reverence, and expectancy, this gathering felt unmistakably like the opening of a new chapter in the history of the prayer movement.

A Prophetic Setting for a Prophetic Moment

The choice of Liberty University as the venue carried deep spiritual significance. Being surrounded by a rising generation of believers gave many attendees a strong sense that the Holy Spirit is intentionally drawing generations together—young visions and mature dreams—so that no one is left out of God’s unfolding purpose (Acts 2:17–18).

The simplicity of the meeting space spoke volumes. With concrete floors and no chandeliers, we were reminded of Christ’s humble birth in a manger—an intentional return to humility and a low view of self-importance. The message was clear: the flame is sustained through humility.

As Ezekiel 36:26 declares, “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you.” Many experienced this renewal firsthand.

Authentic Worship: Prayer in Action

One of the most powerful resets during the conference came through authentic worship—not performance-driven, but prayerfully declared. Worship reaffirmed the truth of God’s Word, rooted it deeper in our hearts, and realigned us with His purposes. We were refreshed, refueled, and reminded that evangelism flows naturally from genuine worship (Psalm 40; John 12).

Worship as Spiritual Warfare

Worship also emerged as a vital part of our spiritual arsenal. As outlined in Ephesians 6:10–18, worship is how we allow God to fight our battles (II Chronicles 20:22). It is a declaration of our weakness and our reliance on God’s strength—making room for Him to work powerfully, even invisibly, on our behalf.

Prayer, Community, and Care

Another defining moment of the conference was praying together around our tables. These intentional spaces allowed for listening, sharing concerns, offering encouragement, and caring for one another as the Body of Christ. Unity was not just spoken—it was practiced.

A Call to Our Knees

In light of the turmoil and uncertainty facing our nation, NPC attendees were called to their knees in humility and desperation. Many confessed not knowing what to do, but knowing who to cry out to. Our collective prayer was heartfelt and urgent:

“Humble us. Heal us. Unite us. Revive us.”

(Ephesians 3:20–21)

Recognizing the Move of the Holy Spirit

There was a shared recognition that we are living in a new era—one marked by a fresh move of the Holy Spirit and a new order in biblical history. Generations are being mobilized together to fulfill God’s purpose in unprecedented ways.

The Challenge Going Forward

The conference concluded with both challenge and encouragement:

Arise and shine, Church, for the glory of God within us is greater than any obstacle before us

Go deeper in intimacy with God

Strengthen our walk with Him—and with one another

Stay hungry for God’s wisdom and guidance

As Isaiah 60:2 reminds us, “For behold, darkness covers the earth…”—but the light of God’s glory rises upon His people.

It was truly gratifying to be present and to share this report.

With gratitude and expectation,

Dr. Corinthia Ridgley Boone
